What Do Rodney Dangerfield, Donovan McNabb And The New York Islanders Have In Common?
It’s not a love of Campbell’s Soup or the ability to do the triple lindy on command.
Insult was added to injury when the Islanders visited several Long Island hospitals last Tuesday. They can barely buy a win and their fans have had all they can stands and they can’t stands no more.
“We were visiting sick kids and giving them gifts,” defenseman James Wisniewski said, “and one of the nurses there was really pretty rude to me, Doug Weight and Andy MacDonald. She’s a season-ticket holder and saying, ‘Nobody wants to go to your games; you’ve been giving tickets away for free.’
“It was kind of like, with that first comment, it’s, ‘Whoa.’ And then the second and third, it’s to the point where we kind of had to walk away.”
Rodney Dangerfield and Donovan McNabb feel their pain. Maybe the Islanders can form a “No respect” support group with McNabb and Pauly Shore.

Nice nurses you have on Long Island….what a beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeppppp! You’re taking your sports way too seriously, MDME, they were there to visit sick kids, how classless, you beeeeeeeeeepppppppppppppp!
As a retired nurse, I find this embarrassing and inexcusable. Yes, she’s a season ticket holder and, as such, has a right to be disgruntled but there is a time and a place for everything. She was at work and should have behaved professionally. Those guys give up their personal and family time to visit the kids and, even if they are playing like s*&t, it should still be recognized that they are doing something they don’t have to do….that they do it out of the goodness of their hearts.
If I was that nurse’s supervisor she’d be writing a letter of apology for her rude and unprofessional behaviour or she’d be cleaning bedpans.
Here, here, Teri. What a smuck. It’s not like these guys are trying to be the worst they can be. She should put herself in their shoes. They do what they can on the ice, and get bashed by their own fans. Then, trying to do something from the heart, and they get it from a NURSE! What a disgrace this nurse is. I’ll bet her patients are dropping like flys, just to get away from her.
